OAKINGTON ROAD

The site
A narrow, shady central London garden attached to a 1990s built detached private home.

The brief
The owners of this quirky house required a functional space to compliment the colour palette and architecture of the building. They often entertain in the space so needed any interventions to be able to adapt to various events.

The design
Embracing the existing crumbling industrial aesthetic and inspired but the nearby Canals a series of Corten planters with concealed wheels were installed over re-laid granite cobbles. Plants are encouraged to spread across the site, through the paving and up the walls.
